Ofcom (the telecoms regulator) announced its agenda for managing the telecoms industry today and buried in the small print are some items that I think we will all welcome.

  • Maximum 2 year terms on Contracts and Bundles
  • Mobile Phones locked to one carrier not to be sold.
  • Additions services added to your contract no longer extend your contract unless you consent

Also brings some good news with regard to superfast broadband coverage of the UK. Now 96% of us can receive it, which is good because we spend an average of 3 Hours and 25 Minutes a day on the Internet and 74% of us use Broadcast On Demand Video (Netflix etc.)

Ofcom’s proposed plan of work 2022/23
